ATHE is a global awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and other UK and international regulators. ATHE has a strong brand presence across the globe. ATHE offers a wide portfolio of vocationally orientated and internationally recognised qualifications – such as business and management, law, computing and healthcare. ATHE qualifications are recognized not only as standalone qualifications but also as progression pathways to relevant Bachelor’s and Master’s Top Up degrees by a growing number of UK and international Universities, providing significant tertiary education opportunities for our learners. ATHE qualifications also have direct comparisons to international qualifications so a qualification achieved through ATHE is recognised in countries across the world. This is important in supporting mobility of labour and will provide opportunities to apply for progression to other qualifications or for employment in other parts of the world.

The core of these qualifications provides the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills required in general business environment, together with a focus on the development of communication, team building and problem solving skills.

The courses are organised into four levels

Level 4: Extended Diploma in Management:
The ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Management is a 120 credit qualification and is the equivalent to the 1st year of a degree programme and can take up to 1 year to complete. It provides a firm foundation for more advanced field of study. Guided by a tutor in a core module, the learners also begin a process of personal development planning. Certificate and Diploma Level Courses are normally studied during the first year of a higher education course.

Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management:
The ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management is of 120 credit qualification and is the equivalent level to the 2nd year of a degree programme and can take up to 1 year to complete. Learners develop intellectual and imaginative powers, their understanding, judgment and problem solving skills, as well as communication skills and a deepening awareness of your subject. Attention is also given to future employability and professional practice. These Courses are normally studied to reach second year level of a higher education course.

Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management:
ATHE Diploma in Strategic Management is offered as the most advanced level course, developed in line with the traditional content of a university and provides direct access to MBA top-up at a number of UK universities. This course is designed to develop and test independent judgment and critical awareness and to develop an enquiring, analytical and creative approach to learning. Learners are expected to recognise relationships in what they have learned, to synthesize and integrate information and to view their subject(s) of study in a broader perspective. Learners carry out individual research projects and activities in preparation for employment or further study on postgraduate or professional courses.

The learners have a variety of progression routes from ATHE qualifications. Whether it is vocational qualifications they allow learners to progress straight into employment or giving the opportunity for progression to a university degree, ATHE qualification leading to a university degree not only gives learners that opportunity for progression but also demonstrates the recognized value of that qualification.

Although ATHE qualifications that are on the QCF are recognized worldwide and excellent qualification in themselves, depending on the career ambitions learners may decide that it’s worth studying a little longer for a university degree. A Top-up degree allows learners to do exactly what its name suggests: to top-up Diploma qualification to an honors degree or an MBA. Topping-up to a degree will typically take between six and twelve months of further study depending on what degree learners want to take up. Learners will be guided for the best options available for them before they take up any qualification.

Online Learning

WINC ONLINE programmes are offered on a rolling basis through self-study and remote Tutor support, this mode of study requires self-discipline and motivation to ensure that monthly deadlines are adhered to. WINC ONLINE aims to support learners to complete courses in less than one year, for example, Level 4 course can be completed in 8 months on average (though it may be longer if the target dates are not met). Learners will be given access to the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) which contains all the resources required to study each topic and then complete the Assessment Tasks, there is a mixture of formative and summative assessment to allow learners to check their progress at the end of each section. Learners will be provided with Tutor contact details and they are on hand throughout the programme to ensure that all queries and uncertainties are answered promptly.
